Tai Chi

Monticello Reflection Pond

Tai Chi is a wonderful way for creating a healthier you! It is a slow moving martial arts that is clinically proven to be one of the most effective exercises to improve health, fitness and relaxation. It is suitable for anybody and can be practiced almost anywhere.

As a Master Trainer for the Tai Chi for Health Institute, I am enjoying meeting new people, as they start their journey on the tai chi path, and watching them grow as they share with others as instructors. To learn more about how to become an instructor you can visit tchi.org and sign up at one of the workshops being offered.   Check to the right under Tai Chi Classes for listings.

I am currently able to create certified tai chi instructors for the Tai Chi for Arthritis form, Tai Chi for Diabetes, and Tai Chi for Beginners. After 2016, I added Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention, Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis, and Part 2 of TCA, to complete its package.  I have also added Tai Chi for Rehabilitation and Tai Chi @ Work.  I am able to recert those that have already gotten their certifications in Tai Chi for Energy, and its Part 2.

The Arthritis form is an evidence base program, that has been selected for the extra step called follow step creating agile stepping.  The largest Fall Prevention research study used this form, and people wanted more moves hence the Part 2.  We are strong in wanting people to stay with in their comfort zone, so the modification of Seated was soon developed.

The Diabetes form is great for those that need a gradual increase of activity tolerance, such as those suffering from cardiac troubles. (The new Tai Chi for Heart Conditions can be used a prequel)

The Beginners form is a great way to start those off to learn 4 qigong movements along with six individual tai chi movements that can prepare anyone to enjoy Yang style forms, especially Yang 24, the most popular tai chi form around the world.

Tai Chi for Rehabilitation is so simple it allows participants to enjoy the principles even soon, gaining benefits sooner.  It is also designed with the modifications of different needs in mind; standing, sitting, lying down.  This form begins the healing of the internal and self.  It is designed to be a part of a prequel to Energy through movement, but through self growth the next would be…

Tai Chi @ Work is designed to allow short to long segments sessions as needed through out the work day, to decrease stress and be better at productivity.  It also enhances the ability to communicate.
